Belitong which is famous for its charm granite rock formation and white sand, had four consecutive years since 2007 became the last haven of Sail Indonesia participants before they leave Indonesian waters. The move has provided a positive impact for the development of tourism sector in the region.
Currently there are four wide-bodied aircraft flights daily to serve flights between Jakarta-Belitong go home, ie, Sriwijaya Air and Batavia three times once flew. In fact, in late November 2010 the possibility of Garuda Indonesia also will serve this route.
